Catholic Verse of the Day

Luke 12:8

Douay-Rheims Catholic Bible verse for Saturday, May 6, 2028, with reflection, prayer, and a link to the full chapter.

Theme: Daily Scripture

And I say to you: Whosoever shall confess me before men, him shall the Son of man also confess before the angels of God.

Luke 12:8

Reflection for Today

The Church sets before us Luke 12:8: “And I say to you: Whosoever shall confess me before men, him shall the Son of man also confess before the angels of God.”

Luke does not give us a distant memory of Jesus. It places us in His company, where every word can become prayer. The Catholic way of reading is never solitary for long. We read with the Church, with the saints, and with the poor Christ still loves.

If nothing else remains from this page, let one phrase of Luke 12:8 remain. Write one sentence of response in a notebook or phone note: what you hear God asking, promising, or healing. Then do one small act that matches that sentence.

Prayer

Father of mercies, I bring You this day and this verse from Luke 12:8. As I listen to “And I say to you: Whosoever shall confess me before men, him shall the Son of man…,” heal what is anxious in me, correct what is proud, and strengthen what is willing to love. Amen.
