Reflection for Today
The Church sets before us Hosea 12:9: “And I that am the Lord thy God from the land of Egypt, will yet cause thee to dwell in tabernacles, as in the days of the feast.”
In Hosea, the prophetic word unsettles comfort and awakens hope. God loves His people enough to call them back, and enough to promise a future. Read in Catholic faith, this is not a decorative sentence for social media. It is a living word meant to convert, console, and send us back into ordinary life with a quieter heart.
God often changes us less by thunder and more by a line of Scripture that will not leave us alone. If the verse consoles you, do not rush past the comfort. Gratitude is also a form of obedience.
Prayer
Come, Holy Spirit. Open the Scriptures to me as You opened them to the apostles. In Hosea 12:9 I hear, “And I that am the Lord thy God from the land of Egypt, will yet cause thee to dwell…” Give me understanding, give me desire, and give me the grace to obey with joy. Amen.
