Catholic Verse of the Day

Daniel 12:8

Douay-Rheims Catholic Bible verse for Saturday, April 29, 2028, with reflection, prayer, and a link to the full chapter.

Theme: Daily Scripture

And I heard, and understood not. And I said: O my lord, what shall be after these things?

Daniel 12:8

Reflection for Today

Pause with Daniel 12:8. Hear these words again: “And I heard, and understood not. And I said: O my lord, what shall be after these things?”

In Daniel, the prophetic word unsettles comfort and awakens hope. God loves His people enough to call them back, and enough to promise a future. Scripture rarely flatters us. It loves us enough to tell the truth, and then it stays with us while we learn to live that truth.

If nothing else remains from this page, let one phrase of Daniel 12:8 remain. If possible, bring this line to Mass or to a brief visit before the Blessed Sacrament. Let Christ finish in silence what the verse began in your thoughts.

Prayer

Holy Trinity, I receive today's verse with the Church. Keep Daniel 12:8 close to me. Let “And I heard, and understood not. And I said: O my lord, what shall be after these…” guard my thoughts from morning until night, and let my life quietly agree with Your word. Amen.
