Theme: Daily Scripture
“Do good to the just, and thou shalt find great recompense: and if not of him, assuredly of the Lord.”
Reflection for Today
The Church sets before us Sirach 12:2: “Do good to the just, and thou shalt find great recompense: and if not of him, assuredly of the Lord.”
Sirach belongs to the wisdom books, where faith meets daily decisions. Holiness is not only for extraordinary moments; it is learned in ordinary choices. Read in Catholic faith, this is not a decorative sentence for social media. It is a living word meant to convert, console, and send us back into ordinary life with a quieter heart.
As you hold this verse, do not force a dramatic feeling. Ask only for faithfulness. Pray a decade of the Rosary with this verse in mind. Ask Mary to teach you how to keep God's word and ponder it, as she did.
Prayer
Lord God, thank You for speaking through Sirach 12:2. You said, “Do good to the just, and thou shalt find great recompense: and if not of him,…” I do not want to rush past these words. Quiet my mind, warm my heart, and help me live what I have heard with faith, hope, and charity. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
