Theme: Prayer
“And as she came up, she prayed to the Lord the God of Israel, that he would direct her way to the deliverance of his people.”
Reflection for Today
The Church sets before us Judith 12:8: “And as she came up, she prayed to the Lord the God of Israel, that he would direct her way to the deliverance of his people.”
Judith, received in the Catholic canon, shows courage, fidelity, and providence when God's people are tested. Read in Catholic faith, this is not a decorative sentence for social media. It is a living word meant to convert, console, and send us back into ordinary life with a quieter heart.
As you hold this verse, do not force a dramatic feeling. Ask only for faithfulness. If the verse convicts you, do not panic. Take it to Confession when you can, or begin with an honest Act of Contrition tonight.
Prayer
Holy Trinity, I receive today's verse with the Church. Keep Judith 12:8 close to me. Let “And as she came up, she prayed to the Lord the God of Israel, that he would direct…” guard my thoughts from morning until night, and let my life quietly agree with Your word. Amen.
