Catholic Verse of the Day

Esther 12:1

Douay-Rheims Catholic Bible verse for Wednesday, April 19, 2028, with reflection, prayer, and a link to the full chapter.

Theme: Daily Scripture

And he abode at that time in the king's court with Bagatha and Thara the king's eunuchs, who were porters of the palace.

Esther 12:1

Reflection for Today

The Church sets before us Esther 12:1: “And he abode at that time in the king's court with Bagatha and Thara the king's eunuchs, who were porters of the palace.”

Esther, received in the Catholic canon, shows courage, fidelity, and providence when God's people are tested. The Catholic way of reading is never solitary for long. We read with the Church, with the saints, and with the poor Christ still loves.

If nothing else remains from this page, let one phrase of Esther 12:1 remain. If possible, bring this line to Mass or to a brief visit before the Blessed Sacrament. Let Christ finish in silence what the verse began in your thoughts.

Prayer

Lord God, thank You for speaking through Esther 12:1. You said, “And he abode at that time in the king's court with Bagatha and Thara the king's…” I do not want to rush past these words. Quiet my mind, warm my heart, and help me live what I have heard with faith, hope, and charity. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
