Theme: Daily Scripture
“And it was made void in that day: and so the poor of the flock that keep for me, understood that it is the word of the Lord.”
Reflection for Today
Today's Catholic verse of the day is Zechariah 11:11: “And it was made void in that day: and so the poor of the flock that keep for me, understood that it is the word of the Lord.”
In Zechariah, the prophetic word unsettles comfort and awakens hope. God loves His people enough to call them back, and enough to promise a future. A single verse can meet us differently depending on the season we are in: grief, gratitude, fatigue, or new beginnings.
As you hold this verse, do not force a dramatic feeling. Ask only for faithfulness. Before the day runs away, sit with this verse for two quiet minutes. Say it slowly. Notice which word stays warm in the heart, and carry that word into one conversation.
Prayer
Lord God, thank You for speaking through Zechariah 11:11. You said, “And it was made void in that day: and so the poor of the flock that keep for me,…” I do not want to rush past these words. Quiet my mind, warm my heart, and help me live what I have heard with faith, hope, and charity. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
