Reflection for Today
The Church sets before us Deuteronomy 11:12: “And the Lord thy God doth always visit it, and his eyes are on it from the beginning of the year unto the end thereof.”
A single verse can meet us differently depending on the season we are in: grief, gratitude, fatigue, or new beginnings. Deuteronomy is part of the long story of salvation. Catholics receive it as inspired Scripture, a word that prepares the heart for Christ and still nourishes the Church.
As you hold this verse, do not force a dramatic feeling. Ask only for faithfulness. Before the day runs away, sit with this verse for two quiet minutes. Say it slowly. Notice which word stays warm in the heart, and carry that word into one conversation.
Prayer
Holy Trinity, I receive today's verse with the Church. Keep Deuteronomy 11:12 close to me. Let “And the Lord thy God doth always visit it, and his eyes are on it from the beginning…” guard my thoughts from morning until night, and let my life quietly agree with Your word. Amen.
