Catholic Verse of the Day

Genesis 11:8

Douay-Rheims Catholic Bible verse for Tuesday, February 22, 2028, with reflection, prayer, and a link to the full chapter.

Theme: Daily Scripture

And so the Lord scattered them from that place into all lands, and they ceased to build the city.

Genesis 11:8

Reflection for Today

Pause with Genesis 11:8. Hear these words again: “And so the Lord scattered them from that place into all lands, and they ceased to build the city.”

Genesis is part of the long story of salvation. Catholics receive it as inspired Scripture, a word that prepares the heart for Christ and still nourishes the Church. Read in Catholic faith, this is not a decorative sentence for social media. It is a living word meant to convert, console, and send us back into ordinary life with a quieter heart.

God often changes us less by thunder and more by a line of Scripture that will not leave us alone. If the verse convicts you, do not panic. Take it to Confession when you can, or begin with an honest Act of Contrition tonight.

Prayer

Father of mercies, I bring You this day and this verse from Genesis 11:8. As I listen to “And so the Lord scattered them from that place into all lands, and they ceased to…,” heal what is anxious in me, correct what is proud, and strengthen what is willing to love. Amen.
