Theme: Daily Scripture

And the Lord said to Moses: Yet one plague more will I bring upon Pharao and Egypt, and after that he shall let you go, and thrust you out.

Exodus 11:1

Reflection for Today

Today's Catholic verse of the day is Exodus 11:1: “And the Lord said to Moses: Yet one plague more will I bring upon Pharao and Egypt, and after that he shall let you go, and thrust you out.”

Exodus is part of the long story of salvation. Catholics receive it as inspired Scripture, a word that prepares the heart for Christ and still nourishes the Church. Read in Catholic faith, this is not a decorative sentence for social media. It is a living word meant to convert, console, and send us back into ordinary life with a quieter heart.

As you hold this verse, do not force a dramatic feeling. Ask only for faithfulness. If the verse convicts you, do not panic. Take it to Confession when you can, or begin with an honest Act of Contrition tonight.

Prayer

Come, Holy Spirit. Open the Scriptures to me as You opened them to the apostles. In Exodus 11:1 I hear, “And the Lord said to Moses: Yet one plague more will I bring upon Pharao and Egypt,…” Give me understanding, give me desire, and give me the grace to obey with joy. Amen.
