Catholic Verse of the Day

Hebrews 10:9

Douay-Rheims Catholic Bible verse for Sunday, February 20, 2028, with reflection, prayer, and a link to the full chapter.

Theme: Daily Scripture

Then said I: Behold, I come to do thy will, O God: He taketh away the first, that he may establish that which followeth.

Hebrews 10:9

Reflection for Today

Let Hebrews 10:9 speak first, before our plans and worries do: “Then said I: Behold, I come to do thy will, O God: He taketh away the first, that he may establish that which followeth.”

Hebrews comes from the apostolic age, when the first communities were learning how to live the Gospel in ordinary struggles. The Church still listens here for guidance. Read in Catholic faith, this is not a decorative sentence for social media. It is a living word meant to convert, console, and send us back into ordinary life with a quieter heart.

Today's invitation under the theme of Daily Scripture is simple and serious. Before the day runs away, sit with this verse for two quiet minutes. Say it slowly. Notice which word stays warm in the heart, and carry that word into one conversation.

Prayer

Come, Holy Spirit. Open the Scriptures to me as You opened them to the apostles. In Hebrews 10:9 I hear, “Then said I: Behold, I come to do thy will, O God: He taketh away the first, that he…” Give me understanding, give me desire, and give me the grace to obey with joy. Amen.
