Theme: Trust & Providence
“In the Lord I put my trust: how then do you say to my soul: Get thee away from hence to the mountain, like a sparrow.”
Reflection for Today
The Church sets before us Psalms 10:2: “In the Lord I put my trust: how then do you say to my soul: Get thee away from hence to the mountain, like a sparrow.”
A single verse can meet us differently depending on the season we are in: grief, gratitude, fatigue, or new beginnings. The Psalms have given voice to every mood of the believer: praise, tears, trust, and longing. What Israel prayed, the Church still sings.
Today's invitation under the theme of Trust & Providence is simple and serious. Before the day runs away, sit with this verse for two quiet minutes. Say it slowly. Notice which word stays warm in the heart, and carry that word into one conversation.
Prayer
Come, Holy Spirit. Open the Scriptures to me as You opened them to the apostles. In Psalms 10:2 I hear, “In the Lord I put my trust: how then do you say to my soul: Get thee away from hence…” Give me understanding, give me desire, and give me the grace to obey with joy. Amen.
