Theme: Daily Scripture
“And if I be wicked, woe unto me: and if just, I shall not lift up my head, being filled with affliction and misery.”
Reflection for Today
The Church sets before us Job 10:15: “And if I be wicked, woe unto me: and if just, I shall not lift up my head, being filled with affliction and misery.”
Job belongs to the wisdom books, where faith meets daily decisions. Holiness is not only for extraordinary moments; it is learned in ordinary choices. The Catholic way of reading is never solitary for long. We read with the Church, with the saints, and with the poor Christ still loves.
Today's invitation under the theme of Daily Scripture is simple and serious. If the verse consoles you, do not rush past the comfort. Gratitude is also a form of obedience.
Prayer
Father of mercies, I bring You this day and this verse from Job 10:15. As I listen to “And if I be wicked, woe unto me: and if just, I shall not lift up my head, being…,” heal what is anxious in me, correct what is proud, and strengthen what is willing to love. Amen.
