Today's Catholic verse of the day is Esther 10:10: “And he commanded that there should be two lots, one of the people of God, and the other of all the nations.”
Scripture rarely flatters us. It loves us enough to tell the truth, and then it stays with us while we learn to live that truth. Esther, received in the Catholic canon, shows courage, fidelity, and providence when God's people are tested.
As you hold this verse, do not force a dramatic feeling. Ask only for faithfulness. If the verse consoles you, do not rush past the comfort. Gratitude is also a form of obedience.
Prayer
Come, Holy Spirit. Open the Scriptures to me as You opened them to the apostles. In Esther 10:10 I hear, “And he commanded that there should be two lots, one of the people of God, and the…” Give me understanding, give me desire, and give me the grace to obey with joy. Amen.
