Theme: Daily Scripture
“And that we would bring the firstfruits of our land, and the firstfruits of all fruit of every tree, from year to year, in the house of our Lord.”
Reflection for Today
Pause with Nehemiah 10:35. Hear these words again: “And that we would bring the firstfruits of our land, and the firstfruits of all fruit of every tree, from year to year, in the house of our Lord.”
Nehemiah is part of the long story of salvation. Catholics receive it as inspired Scripture, a word that prepares the heart for Christ and still nourishes the Church. Read in Catholic faith, this is not a decorative sentence for social media. It is a living word meant to convert, console, and send us back into ordinary life with a quieter heart.
Today's invitation under the theme of Daily Scripture is simple and serious. Before the day runs away, sit with this verse for two quiet minutes. Say it slowly. Notice which word stays warm in the heart, and carry that word into one conversation.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, Word made flesh, You still teach Your disciples through Sacred Scripture. Through Nehemiah 10:35, let “And that we would bring the firstfruits of our land, and the firstfruits of all…” become more than a memory. Make it light for my work, patience for my home, and courage for my vocation. Amen.
