Theme: Peace
“And Tobias said to her: Hold thy peace, and be not troubled, our son is safe: that man with whom we sent him is very trusty.”
Reflection for Today
The Church sets before us Tobit 10:6: “And Tobias said to her: Hold thy peace, and be not troubled, our son is safe: that man with whom we sent him is very trusty.”
Tobit, received in the Catholic canon, shows courage, fidelity, and providence when God's people are tested. Peace is one of the first things anxiety steals. Christ does not deny our storms; He offers a peace that can remain even while the waves are still high.
God often changes us less by thunder and more by a line of Scripture that will not leave us alone. If the verse convicts you, do not panic. Take it to Confession when you can, or begin with an honest Act of Contrition tonight.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, Word made flesh, You still teach Your disciples through Sacred Scripture. Through Tobit 10:6, let “And Tobias said to her: Hold thy peace, and be not troubled, our son is safe: that…” become more than a memory. Make it light for my work, patience for my home, and courage for my vocation. Amen.
