The Church sets before us Hebrews 9:28: “So also Christ was offered once to exhaust the sins of many. The second time he shall appear without sin to them that expect him unto salvation.”
A single verse can meet us differently depending on the season we are in: grief, gratitude, fatigue, or new beginnings. Hebrews comes from the apostolic age, when the first communities were learning how to live the Gospel in ordinary struggles. The Church still listens here for guidance.
If nothing else remains from this page, let one phrase of Hebrews 9:28 remain. If the verse consoles you, do not rush past the comfort. Gratitude is also a form of obedience.
