Theme: Daily Scripture
“And the king commanded that it should be so done. And forthwith the edict was hung up in Susan, and the ten sons of Aman were hanged.”
Reflection for Today
Pause with Esther 9:14. Hear these words again: “And the king commanded that it should be so done. And forthwith the edict was hung up in Susan, and the ten sons of Aman were hanged.”
Esther, received in the Catholic canon, shows courage, fidelity, and providence when God's people are tested. Read in Catholic faith, this is not a decorative sentence for social media. It is a living word meant to convert, console, and send us back into ordinary life with a quieter heart.
God often changes us less by thunder and more by a line of Scripture that will not leave us alone. Write one sentence of response in a notebook or phone note: what you hear God asking, promising, or healing. Then do one small act that matches that sentence.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, Word made flesh, You still teach Your disciples through Sacred Scripture. Through Esther 9:14, let “And the king commanded that it should be so done. And forthwith the edict was hung…” become more than a memory. Make it light for my work, patience for my home, and courage for my vocation. Amen.
