Catholic Verse of the Day

Mark 8:29

Douay-Rheims Catholic Bible verse for Saturday, November 20, 2027, with reflection, prayer, and a link to the full chapter.

Theme: Daily Scripture

Then he saith to them: But whom do you say that I am? Peter answering said to him: Thou art the Christ.

Mark 8:29

Reflection for Today

Today's Catholic verse of the day is Mark 8:29: “Then he saith to them: But whom do you say that I am? Peter answering said to him: Thou art the Christ.”

Scripture rarely flatters us. It loves us enough to tell the truth, and then it stays with us while we learn to live that truth. Mark does not give us a distant memory of Jesus. It places us in His company, where every word can become prayer.

As you hold this verse, do not force a dramatic feeling. Ask only for faithfulness. Pray a decade of the Rosary with this verse in mind. Ask Mary to teach you how to keep God's word and ponder it, as she did.

Prayer

Lord Jesus, Word made flesh, You still teach Your disciples through Sacred Scripture. Through Mark 8:29, let “Then he saith to them: But whom do you say that I am? Peter answering said to him:…” become more than a memory. Make it light for my work, patience for my home, and courage for my vocation. Amen.
