Theme: Daily Scripture
“And it came to pass that when Jesus was returned, the multitude received him: for they were all waiting for him.”
Reflection for Today
Pause with Luke 8:40. Hear these words again: “And it came to pass that when Jesus was returned, the multitude received him: for they were all waiting for him.”
Hope does not erase waiting. It changes what waiting means: not empty delay, but trust that God is preparing what we cannot yet see. Luke does not give us a distant memory of Jesus. It places us in His company, where every word can become prayer.
God often changes us less by thunder and more by a line of Scripture that will not leave us alone. If possible, bring this line to Mass or to a brief visit before the Blessed Sacrament. Let Christ finish in silence what the verse began in your thoughts.
Prayer
Holy Trinity, I receive today's verse with the Church. Keep Luke 8:40 close to me. Let “And it came to pass that when Jesus was returned, the multitude received him: for…” guard my thoughts from morning until night, and let my life quietly agree with Your word. Amen.
