Reflection for Today
Pause with 1 Corinthians 7:40. Hear these words again: “But more blessed shall she be, if she so remain, according to my counsel. And I think that I also have the spirit of God.”
1 Corinthians comes from the apostolic age, when the first communities were learning how to live the Gospel in ordinary struggles. The Church still listens here for guidance. Scripture rarely flatters us. It loves us enough to tell the truth, and then it stays with us while we learn to live that truth.
As you hold this verse, do not force a dramatic feeling. Ask only for faithfulness. Share this verse with someone who needs encouragement, not as advice from above, but as a gift you yourself are trying to live.
Prayer
Holy Trinity, I receive today's verse with the Church. Keep 1 Corinthians 7:40 close to me. Let “But more blessed shall she be, if she so remain, according to my counsel. And I…” guard my thoughts from morning until night, and let my life quietly agree with Your word. Amen.
