Theme: Work & Service

Forgiveness & MercyWork & Service

The grace of God, by Jesus Christ our Lord. Therefore, I myself, with the mind serve the law of God: but with the flesh, the law of sin.

Romans 7:25

Reflection for Today

Pause with Romans 7:25. Hear these words again: “The grace of God, by Jesus Christ our Lord. Therefore, I myself, with the mind serve the law of God: but with the flesh, the law of sin.”

Romans comes from the apostolic age, when the first communities were learning how to live the Gospel in ordinary struggles. The Church still listens here for guidance. Read in Catholic faith, this is not a decorative sentence for social media. It is a living word meant to convert, console, and send us back into ordinary life with a quieter heart.

Today's invitation under the theme of Work & Service is simple and serious. Before the day runs away, sit with this verse for two quiet minutes. Say it slowly. Notice which word stays warm in the heart, and carry that word into one conversation.

Prayer

Come, Holy Spirit. Open the Scriptures to me as You opened them to the apostles. In Romans 7:25 I hear, “The grace of God, by Jesus Christ our Lord. Therefore, I myself, with the mind serve…” Give me understanding, give me desire, and give me the grace to obey with joy. Amen.
