Reflection for Today
Pause with Luke 7:4. Hear these words again: “And when they came to Jesus, they besought him earnestly, saying to him: He is worthy that thou shouldest do this for him.”
Luke does not give us a distant memory of Jesus. It places us in His company, where every word can become prayer. Read in Catholic faith, this is not a decorative sentence for social media. It is a living word meant to convert, console, and send us back into ordinary life with a quieter heart.
God often changes us less by thunder and more by a line of Scripture that will not leave us alone. If possible, bring this line to Mass or to a brief visit before the Blessed Sacrament. Let Christ finish in silence what the verse began in your thoughts.
Prayer
Lord God, thank You for speaking through Luke 7:4. You said, “And when they came to Jesus, they besought him earnestly, saying to him: He is…” I do not want to rush past these words. Quiet my mind, warm my heart, and help me live what I have heard with faith, hope, and charity. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
