Today's Catholic verse of the day is Matthew 7:28: “And it came to pass when Jesus had fully ended these words, the people were in admiration at his doctrine.”
Scripture rarely flatters us. It loves us enough to tell the truth, and then it stays with us while we learn to live that truth. Matthew does not give us a distant memory of Jesus. It places us in His company, where every word can become prayer.

Prayer
Lord God, thank You for speaking through Matthew 7:28. You said, “And it came to pass when Jesus had fully ended these words, the people were in…” I do not want to rush past these words. Quiet my mind, warm my heart, and help me live what I have heard with faith, hope, and charity. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
