Today's Catholic verse of the day is 1 Maccabees 7:28: “Saying: Let there be no fighting between me and you: I will come with a few men, to see your faces with peace.”
1 Maccabees, received in the Catholic canon, shows courage, fidelity, and providence when God's people are tested. Peace is one of the first things anxiety steals. Christ does not deny our storms; He offers a peace that can remain even while the waves are still high.
Today's invitation under the theme of Peace is simple and serious. If possible, bring this line to Mass or to a brief visit before the Blessed Sacrament. Let Christ finish in silence what the verse began in your thoughts.
Prayer
Come, Holy Spirit. Open the Scriptures to me as You opened them to the apostles. In 1 Maccabees 7:28 I hear, “Saying: Let there be no fighting between me and you: I will come with a few men, to…” Give me understanding, give me desire, and give me the grace to obey with joy. Amen.
