Theme: Mercy
“Thus saith the Lord of hosts, saying: Judge ye true judgment, and shew ye mercy and compassion every man to his brother.”
Reflection for Today
Let Zechariah 7:9 speak first, before our plans and worries do: “Thus saith the Lord of hosts, saying: Judge ye true judgment, and shew ye mercy and compassion every man to his brother.”
In Zechariah, the prophetic word unsettles comfort and awakens hope. God loves His people enough to call them back, and enough to promise a future. Read in Catholic faith, this is not a decorative sentence for social media. It is a living word meant to convert, console, and send us back into ordinary life with a quieter heart.
Today's invitation under the theme of Mercy is simple and serious. If possible, bring this line to Mass or to a brief visit before the Blessed Sacrament. Let Christ finish in silence what the verse began in your thoughts.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, Word made flesh, You still teach Your disciples through Sacred Scripture. Through Zechariah 7:9, let “Thus saith the Lord of hosts, saying: Judge ye true judgment, and shew ye mercy and…” become more than a memory. Make it light for my work, patience for my home, and courage for my vocation. Amen.
