Let Micah 7:8 speak first, before our plans and worries do: “Rejoice not, thou my enemy, over me, because I am fallen: I shall arise, when I sit in darkness, the Lord is my light.”
Scripture rarely flatters us. It loves us enough to tell the truth, and then it stays with us while we learn to live that truth. In Micah, the prophetic word unsettles comfort and awakens hope. God loves His people enough to call them back, and enough to promise a future.
God often changes us less by thunder and more by a line of Scripture that will not leave us alone. If the verse consoles you, do not rush past the comfort. Gratitude is also a form of obedience.
Prayer
Holy Trinity, I receive today's verse with the Church. Keep Micah 7:8 close to me. Let “Rejoice not, thou my enemy, over me, because I am fallen: I shall arise, when I sit…” guard my thoughts from morning until night, and let my life quietly agree with Your word. Amen.
