Theme: Daily Scripture
“And Joshua said to Achan: My son, give glory to the Lord God of Israel, and confess, and tell me what thou hast done, hide it not.”
Reflection for Today
Let Joshua 7:19 speak first, before our plans and worries do: “And Joshua said to Achan: My son, give glory to the Lord God of Israel, and confess, and tell me what thou hast done, hide it not.”
Joshua is part of the long story of salvation. Catholics receive it as inspired Scripture, a word that prepares the heart for Christ and still nourishes the Church. A single verse can meet us differently depending on the season we are in: grief, gratitude, fatigue, or new beginnings.
As you hold this verse, do not force a dramatic feeling. Ask only for faithfulness. Share this verse with someone who needs encouragement, not as advice from above, but as a gift you yourself are trying to live.
Prayer
Father of mercies, I bring You this day and this verse from Joshua 7:19. As I listen to “And Joshua said to Achan: My son, give glory to the Lord God of Israel, and confess,…,” heal what is anxious in me, correct what is proud, and strengthen what is willing to love. Amen.
