Catholic Verse of the Day

Exodus 7:1

Douay-Rheims Catholic Bible verse for Thursday, September 2, 2027, with reflection, prayer, and a link to the full chapter.

Theme: Daily Scripture

And the Lord said to Moses: Behold, I have appointed thee the god of Pharao; and Aaron, thy brother, shall be thy prophet.

Exodus 7:1

Reflection for Today

The Church sets before us Exodus 7:1: “And the Lord said to Moses: Behold, I have appointed thee the god of Pharao; and Aaron, thy brother, shall be thy prophet.”

Exodus is part of the long story of salvation. Catholics receive it as inspired Scripture, a word that prepares the heart for Christ and still nourishes the Church. Read in Catholic faith, this is not a decorative sentence for social media. It is a living word meant to convert, console, and send us back into ordinary life with a quieter heart.

If nothing else remains from this page, let one phrase of Exodus 7:1 remain. Before the day runs away, sit with this verse for two quiet minutes. Say it slowly. Notice which word stays warm in the heart, and carry that word into one conversation.

Prayer

Come, Holy Spirit. Open the Scriptures to me as You opened them to the apostles. In Exodus 7:1 I hear, “And the Lord said to Moses: Behold, I have appointed thee the god of Pharao; and…” Give me understanding, give me desire, and give me the grace to obey with joy. Amen.
