Theme: Daily Scripture
“If any man eat the fat that should be offered for the burnt sacrifice of the Lord, he shall perish out of his people.”
Reflection for Today
Today's Catholic verse of the day is Leviticus 7:25: “If any man eat the fat that should be offered for the burnt sacrifice of the Lord, he shall perish out of his people.”
Scripture rarely flatters us. It loves us enough to tell the truth, and then it stays with us while we learn to live that truth. Leviticus is part of the long story of salvation. Catholics receive it as inspired Scripture, a word that prepares the heart for Christ and still nourishes the Church.
If nothing else remains from this page, let one phrase of Leviticus 7:25 remain. If possible, bring this line to Mass or to a brief visit before the Blessed Sacrament. Let Christ finish in silence what the verse began in your thoughts.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, Word made flesh, You still teach Your disciples through Sacred Scripture. Through Leviticus 7:25, let “If any man eat the fat that should be offered for the burnt sacrifice of the Lord,…” become more than a memory. Make it light for my work, patience for my home, and courage for my vocation. Amen.
