Reflection for Today
The Church sets before us Genesis 7:1: “And the Lord said to him: Go in, thou and all thy house, into the ark: for thee I have seen just before me in this generation.”
Genesis is part of the long story of salvation. Catholics receive it as inspired Scripture, a word that prepares the heart for Christ and still nourishes the Church. The Catholic way of reading is never solitary for long. We read with the Church, with the saints, and with the poor Christ still loves.
As you hold this verse, do not force a dramatic feeling. Ask only for faithfulness. Write one sentence of response in a notebook or phone note: what you hear God asking, promising, or healing. Then do one small act that matches that sentence.
Prayer
Holy Trinity, I receive today's verse with the Church. Keep Genesis 7:1 close to me. Let “And the Lord said to him: Go in, thou and all thy house, into the ark: for thee I…” guard my thoughts from morning until night, and let my life quietly agree with Your word. Amen.
