Reflection for Today
Pause with Revelation 6:10. Hear these words again: “And they cried with a loud voice, saying: How long, O Lord (Holy and True), dost thou not judge and revenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?”
The Catholic way of reading is never solitary for long. We read with the Church, with the saints, and with the poor Christ still loves. Revelation is often treated as a puzzle of fear. Catholic faith reads it as a book of worship and hope: the Lamb reigns, and history is not abandoned.
As you hold this verse, do not force a dramatic feeling. Ask only for faithfulness. Share this verse with someone who needs encouragement, not as advice from above, but as a gift you yourself are trying to live.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, Word made flesh, You still teach Your disciples through Sacred Scripture. Through Revelation 6:10, let “And they cried with a loud voice, saying: How long, O Lord (Holy and True), dost…” become more than a memory. Make it light for my work, patience for my home, and courage for my vocation. Amen.
