Let 1 Timothy 6:11 speak first, before our plans and worries do: “But thou, O man of God, fly these things: and pursue justice, godliness, faith, charity, patience, mildness.”
1 Timothy comes from the apostolic age, when the first communities were learning how to live the Gospel in ordinary struggles. The Church still listens here for guidance. Read in Catholic faith, this is not a decorative sentence for social media. It is a living word meant to convert, console, and send us back into ordinary life with a quieter heart.
As you hold this verse, do not force a dramatic feeling. Ask only for faithfulness. Write one sentence of response in a notebook or phone note: what you hear God asking, promising, or healing. Then do one small act that matches that sentence.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, Word made flesh, You still teach Your disciples through Sacred Scripture. Through 1 Timothy 6:11, let “But thou, O man of God, fly these things: and pursue justice, godliness, faith,…” become more than a memory. Make it light for my work, patience for my home, and courage for my vocation. Amen.
