Reflection for Today
Pause with Ephesians 6:8. Hear these words again: “Knowing that whatsoever good thing any man shall do, the same shall he receive from the Lord, whether he be bond or free.”
Ephesians comes from the apostolic age, when the first communities were learning how to live the Gospel in ordinary struggles. The Church still listens here for guidance. Scripture rarely flatters us. It loves us enough to tell the truth, and then it stays with us while we learn to live that truth.
Today's invitation under the theme of Daily Scripture is simple and serious. If possible, bring this line to Mass or to a brief visit before the Blessed Sacrament. Let Christ finish in silence what the verse began in your thoughts.
Prayer
Holy Trinity, I receive today's verse with the Church. Keep Ephesians 6:8 close to me. Let “Knowing that whatsoever good thing any man shall do, the same shall he receive from…” guard my thoughts from morning until night, and let my life quietly agree with Your word. Amen.
