Reflection for Today
Let Zechariah 6:14 speak first, before our plans and worries do: “And the crowns shall be to Helem, and Tobias, and Idaias, and to Hem, the son of Sophonias, a memorial in the temple of the Lord.”
Scripture rarely flatters us. It loves us enough to tell the truth, and then it stays with us while we learn to live that truth. In Zechariah, the prophetic word unsettles comfort and awakens hope. God loves His people enough to call them back, and enough to promise a future.
God often changes us less by thunder and more by a line of Scripture that will not leave us alone. If possible, bring this line to Mass or to a brief visit before the Blessed Sacrament. Let Christ finish in silence what the verse began in your thoughts.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, Word made flesh, You still teach Your disciples through Sacred Scripture. Through Zechariah 6:14, let “And the crowns shall be to Helem, and Tobias, and Idaias, and to Hem, the son of…” become more than a memory. Make it light for my work, patience for my home, and courage for my vocation. Amen.
