Theme: Daily Scripture
“Hear ye what the Lord saith: Arise, contend thou in judgment against the mountains, and let the hills hear thy voice.”
Reflection for Today
Let Micah 6:1 speak first, before our plans and worries do: “Hear ye what the Lord saith: Arise, contend thou in judgment against the mountains, and let the hills hear thy voice.”
Scripture rarely flatters us. It loves us enough to tell the truth, and then it stays with us while we learn to live that truth. In Micah, the prophetic word unsettles comfort and awakens hope. God loves His people enough to call them back, and enough to promise a future.
As you hold this verse, do not force a dramatic feeling. Ask only for faithfulness. If possible, bring this line to Mass or to a brief visit before the Blessed Sacrament. Let Christ finish in silence what the verse began in your thoughts.
Prayer
Father of mercies, I bring You this day and this verse from Micah 6:1. As I listen to “Hear ye what the Lord saith: Arise, contend thou in judgment against the mountains,…,” heal what is anxious in me, correct what is proud, and strengthen what is willing to love. Amen.
