Then king Darius wrote to all people, tribes, and languages, dwelling in the whole earth: PEACE be multiplied unto you.

Daniel 6:25

Reflection for Today

The Church sets before us Daniel 6:25: “Then king Darius wrote to all people, tribes, and languages, dwelling in the whole earth: PEACE be multiplied unto you.”

Peace is one of the first things anxiety steals. Christ does not deny our storms; He offers a peace that can remain even while the waves are still high. In Daniel, the prophetic word unsettles comfort and awakens hope. God loves His people enough to call them back, and enough to promise a future.

If nothing else remains from this page, let one phrase of Daniel 6:25 remain. If the verse consoles you, do not rush past the comfort. Gratitude is also a form of obedience.

Prayer

Come, Holy Spirit. Open the Scriptures to me as You opened them to the apostles. In Daniel 6:25 I hear, “Then king Darius wrote to all people, tribes, and languages, dwelling in the whole…” Give me understanding, give me desire, and give me the grace to obey with joy. Amen.
