Catholic Verse of the Day

Esther 6:14

Douay-Rheims Catholic Bible verse for Saturday, July 31, 2027, with reflection, prayer, and a link to the full chapter.

Theme: Daily Scripture

As they were yet speaking, the king's eunuchs came, and compelled him to go quickly to the banquet which the queen had prepared.

Esther 6:14

Reflection for Today

Let Esther 6:14 speak first, before our plans and worries do: “As they were yet speaking, the king's eunuchs came, and compelled him to go quickly to the banquet which the queen had prepared.”

Scripture rarely flatters us. It loves us enough to tell the truth, and then it stays with us while we learn to live that truth. Esther, received in the Catholic canon, shows courage, fidelity, and providence when God's people are tested.

God often changes us less by thunder and more by a line of Scripture that will not leave us alone. If the verse convicts you, do not panic. Take it to Confession when you can, or begin with an honest Act of Contrition tonight.

Prayer

Come, Holy Spirit. Open the Scriptures to me as You opened them to the apostles. In Esther 6:14 I hear, “As they were yet speaking, the king's eunuchs came, and compelled him to go quickly…” Give me understanding, give me desire, and give me the grace to obey with joy. Amen.
