Reflection for Today
Today's Catholic verse of the day is Judges 6:40: “And God did that night as he had requested: and it was dry on the fleece only, and there was dew on all the ground.”
Scripture rarely flatters us. It loves us enough to tell the truth, and then it stays with us while we learn to live that truth. Judges is part of the long story of salvation. Catholics receive it as inspired Scripture, a word that prepares the heart for Christ and still nourishes the Church.
Today's invitation under the theme of Daily Scripture is simple and serious. If the verse consoles you, do not rush past the comfort. Gratitude is also a form of obedience.
Prayer
Holy Trinity, I receive today's verse with the Church. Keep Judges 6:40 close to me. Let “And God did that night as he had requested: and it was dry on the fleece only, and…” guard my thoughts from morning until night, and let my life quietly agree with Your word. Amen.
