Catholic Verse of the Day

Joshua 6:2

Douay-Rheims Catholic Bible verse for Monday, July 19, 2027, with reflection, prayer, and a link to the full chapter.

Theme: Daily Scripture

And the Lord said to Joshua: Behold I have given into thy hands Jericho, and the king thereof, and all the valiant men.

Joshua 6:2

Reflection for Today

Pause with Joshua 6:2. Hear these words again: “And the Lord said to Joshua: Behold I have given into thy hands Jericho, and the king thereof, and all the valiant men.”

Joshua is part of the long story of salvation. Catholics receive it as inspired Scripture, a word that prepares the heart for Christ and still nourishes the Church. Read in Catholic faith, this is not a decorative sentence for social media. It is a living word meant to convert, console, and send us back into ordinary life with a quieter heart.

As you hold this verse, do not force a dramatic feeling. Ask only for faithfulness. Pray a decade of the Rosary with this verse in mind. Ask Mary to teach you how to keep God's word and ponder it, as she did.

Prayer

Holy Trinity, I receive today's verse with the Church. Keep Joshua 6:2 close to me. Let “And the Lord said to Joshua: Behold I have given into thy hands Jericho, and the…” guard my thoughts from morning until night, and let my life quietly agree with Your word. Amen.
