Catholic Verse of the Day

Deuteronomy 6:21

Douay-Rheims Catholic Bible verse for Sunday, July 18, 2027, with reflection, prayer, and a link to the full chapter.

Theme: Strength

Strength

Thou shalt say to him: We were bondmen of Pharao in Egypt, and the Lord brought us out of Egypt with a strong hand.

Deuteronomy 6:21

Reflection for Today

Today's Catholic verse of the day is Deuteronomy 6:21: “Thou shalt say to him: We were bondmen of Pharao in Egypt, and the Lord brought us out of Egypt with a strong hand.”

True strength in Scripture is often quiet. It is the courage to remain faithful when quitting would be easier. Deuteronomy is part of the long story of salvation. Catholics receive it as inspired Scripture, a word that prepares the heart for Christ and still nourishes the Church.

As you hold this verse, do not force a dramatic feeling. Ask only for faithfulness. Write one sentence of response in a notebook or phone note: what you hear God asking, promising, or healing. Then do one small act that matches that sentence.

Prayer

Come, Holy Spirit. Open the Scriptures to me as You opened them to the apostles. In Deuteronomy 6:21 I hear, “Thou shalt say to him: We were bondmen of Pharao in Egypt, and the Lord brought us…” Give me understanding, give me desire, and give me the grace to obey with joy. Amen.
