Theme: Strength
“That appeared to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, by the name of God Almighty: and my name ADONAI I did not shew them.”
Reflection for Today
The Church sets before us Exodus 6:3: “That appeared to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, by the name of God Almighty: and my name ADONAI I did not shew them.”
True strength in Scripture is often quiet. It is the courage to remain faithful when quitting would be easier. Exodus is part of the long story of salvation. Catholics receive it as inspired Scripture, a word that prepares the heart for Christ and still nourishes the Church.
God often changes us less by thunder and more by a line of Scripture that will not leave us alone. Share this verse with someone who needs encouragement, not as advice from above, but as a gift you yourself are trying to live.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, Word made flesh, You still teach Your disciples through Sacred Scripture. Through Exodus 6:3, let “That appeared to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, by the name of God Almighty: and…” become more than a memory. Make it light for my work, patience for my home, and courage for my vocation. Amen.
