Theme: Daily Scripture
“The sons of God seeing the daughters of men, that they were fair, took to themselves wives of all which they chose.”
Reflection for Today
Today's Catholic verse of the day is Genesis 6:2: “The sons of God seeing the daughters of men, that they were fair, took to themselves wives of all which they chose.”
Genesis is part of the long story of salvation. Catholics receive it as inspired Scripture, a word that prepares the heart for Christ and still nourishes the Church. Read in Catholic faith, this is not a decorative sentence for social media. It is a living word meant to convert, console, and send us back into ordinary life with a quieter heart.
As you hold this verse, do not force a dramatic feeling. Ask only for faithfulness. Pray a decade of the Rosary with this verse in mind. Ask Mary to teach you how to keep God's word and ponder it, as she did.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, Word made flesh, You still teach Your disciples through Sacred Scripture. Through Genesis 6:2, let “The sons of God seeing the daughters of men, that they were fair, took to themselves…” become more than a memory. Make it light for my work, patience for my home, and courage for my vocation. Amen.
