Theme: Daily Scripture
“And whereas indeed he was the Son of God, he learned obedience by the things which he suffered.”
Reflection for Today
Let Hebrews 5:8 speak first, before our plans and worries do: “And whereas indeed he was the Son of God, he learned obedience by the things which he suffered.”
Hebrews comes from the apostolic age, when the first communities were learning how to live the Gospel in ordinary struggles. The Church still listens here for guidance. A single verse can meet us differently depending on the season we are in: grief, gratitude, fatigue, or new beginnings.
God often changes us less by thunder and more by a line of Scripture that will not leave us alone. Pray a decade of the Rosary with this verse in mind. Ask Mary to teach you how to keep God's word and ponder it, as she did.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, Word made flesh, You still teach Your disciples through Sacred Scripture. Through Hebrews 5:8, let “And whereas indeed he was the Son of God, he learned obedience by the things which…” become more than a memory. Make it light for my work, patience for my home, and courage for my vocation. Amen.
