1 Thessalonians comes from the apostolic age, when the first communities were learning how to live the Gospel in ordinary struggles. The Church still listens here for guidance. Read in Catholic faith, this is not a decorative sentence for social media. It is a living word meant to convert, console, and send us back into ordinary life with a quieter heart.

Father of mercies, I bring You this day and this verse from 1 Thessalonians 5:8. As I listen to “But let us, who are of the day, be sober, having on the breast plate of faith and…,” heal what is anxious in me, correct what is proud, and strengthen what is willing to love. Amen.
