Reflection for Today
The Church sets before us Ephesians 5:6: “Let no man deceive you with vain words. For because of these things cometh the anger of God upon the children of unbelief.”
Ephesians comes from the apostolic age, when the first communities were learning how to live the Gospel in ordinary struggles. The Church still listens here for guidance. Read in Catholic faith, this is not a decorative sentence for social media. It is a living word meant to convert, console, and send us back into ordinary life with a quieter heart.
If nothing else remains from this page, let one phrase of Ephesians 5:6 remain. If the verse consoles you, do not rush past the comfort. Gratitude is also a form of obedience.
Prayer
Lord God, thank You for speaking through Ephesians 5:6. You said, “Let no man deceive you with vain words. For because of these things cometh the anger…” I do not want to rush past these words. Quiet my mind, warm my heart, and help me live what I have heard with faith, hope, and charity. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
