Today's Catholic verse of the day is 2 Chronicles 5:14: “Nor could the priests stand and minister by reason of the cloud. For the glory of the Lord had filled the house of God.”
Scripture rarely flatters us. It loves us enough to tell the truth, and then it stays with us while we learn to live that truth. 2 Chronicles is part of the long story of salvation. Catholics receive it as inspired Scripture, a word that prepares the heart for Christ and still nourishes the Church.
As you hold this verse, do not force a dramatic feeling. Ask only for faithfulness. If the verse convicts you, do not panic. Take it to Confession when you can, or begin with an honest Act of Contrition tonight.

Holy Trinity, I receive today's verse with the Church. Keep 2 Chronicles 5:14 close to me. Let “Nor could the priests stand and minister by reason of the cloud. For the glory of…” guard my thoughts from morning until night, and let my life quietly agree with Your word. Amen.
