Reflection for Today
Let 1 John 4:7 speak first, before our plans and worries do: “Dearly beloved, let us love one another: for charity is of God. And every one that loveth is born of God and knoweth God.”
If this verse speaks of love, it invites a question that is quietly demanding: whom am I being asked to love more concretely today? 1 John comes from the apostolic age, when the first communities were learning how to live the Gospel in ordinary struggles. The Church still listens here for guidance.
As you hold this verse, do not force a dramatic feeling. Ask only for faithfulness. Share this verse with someone who needs encouragement, not as advice from above, but as a gift you yourself are trying to live.
Prayer
Holy Trinity, I receive today's verse with the Church. Keep 1 John 4:7 close to me. Let “Dearly beloved, let us love one another: for charity is of God. And every one that…” guard my thoughts from morning until night, and let my life quietly agree with Your word. Amen.
