Catholic Verse of the Day

Acts 4:19

Douay-Rheims Catholic Bible verse for Wednesday, May 5, 2027, with reflection, prayer, and a link to the full chapter.

Theme: Daily Scripture

But Peter and John answering, said to them: If it be just, in the sight of God, to hear you rather than God, judge ye.

Acts 4:19

Reflection for Today

Pause with Acts 4:19. Hear these words again: “But Peter and John answering, said to them: If it be just, in the sight of God, to hear you rather than God, judge ye.”

The Acts of the Apostles remind us that the Church is not a museum of holy memories. It is a living community moved by the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning. Read in Catholic faith, this is not a decorative sentence for social media. It is a living word meant to convert, console, and send us back into ordinary life with a quieter heart.

God often changes us less by thunder and more by a line of Scripture that will not leave us alone. Before the day runs away, sit with this verse for two quiet minutes. Say it slowly. Notice which word stays warm in the heart, and carry that word into one conversation.

Prayer

Lord Jesus, Word made flesh, You still teach Your disciples through Sacred Scripture. Through Acts 4:19, let “But Peter and John answering, said to them: If it be just, in the sight of God, to…” become more than a memory. Make it light for my work, patience for my home, and courage for my vocation. Amen.
