Theme: Faith
“For not through the law was the promise to Abraham or to his seed, that he should be heir of the world: but through the justice of faith.”
Reflection for Today
Pause with Romans 4:13. Hear these words again: “For not through the law was the promise to Abraham or to his seed, that he should be heir of the world: but through the justice of faith.”
Romans comes from the apostolic age, when the first communities were learning how to live the Gospel in ordinary struggles. The Church still listens here for guidance. Read in Catholic faith, this is not a decorative sentence for social media. It is a living word meant to convert, console, and send us back into ordinary life with a quieter heart.
If nothing else remains from this page, let one phrase of Romans 4:13 remain. If possible, bring this line to Mass or to a brief visit before the Blessed Sacrament. Let Christ finish in silence what the verse began in your thoughts.
Prayer
Father of mercies, I bring You this day and this verse from Romans 4:13. As I listen to “For not through the law was the promise to Abraham or to his seed, that he should be…,” heal what is anxious in me, correct what is proud, and strengthen what is willing to love. Amen.
